Project Brief

I will be going along with other Students to document the Montagnard Dega at a festival and edit it all together to a documentary.

Project-Brief

I plan on learning more about how they use music and what it means to them. I want to use samples from the older music and make modern music using them. In the style of DJ Pogo or that of Kanye West. It will be interesting to see what can be made from the older style of their music and modernizing it.

Frameing

It always depends on how you look at one thing and how it effects you. Photography is the best example of that. 

Creativity

Creativity can be many things, and can be used on many things. Such as already existing forms of media. For instance artist Dj Pogo. He hails from Australia and is a pioneer for sampling and free usage of samples to create music. What he does is takes sound clips from movies and the chord progression from the movie and arranges them to create a song in it's self, using ONLY the sounds from the movie.

About Me

What's good? My name is Jon Webb. I'm from Jacksonville, North Carolina. It's like 30 mins from Wilmington, NC. It's right on the beach.

I come from a family of five. My Dad, Edward Webb, he is a retired Marine. My Mom Charlotte Scott, she retired from the Navy. My sister, Jennifer, lives in Kansas City. And My brother Edward Webb Jr. lives in NY, he is in the Army. Leaving me the baby of the family.

I love skateboarding and playing my guitar.

Music is my life

The role of digital media in my life is pretty important. I use cameras, computers and software on a daily basis and without it i wouldn't be able to function.


Some advice i would give to someone who is new to the US would be, learn english as fast as you can, it'll make things a lot easier for you and to watch Mean Girls, the movie. It shows that American teens are, and can be some mean people to the naive.
